Position Overview:
The Operations Research Analyst shall provide analytic support within the Intelligence and Operations communities. This position is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to evaluate operations, improve decision‑making, and develop actionable solutions to mission challenges. The Analyst applies established modeling, simulation, and evaluation methodologies to measure effectiveness, identify problem areas, and recommend courses of action. The Analyst also prepares reports, conducts business‑case analyses, and presents findings to decision‑makers in support of operational and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Collection & Analysis: Collect, organize, and analyze data relevant to intelligence and operational missions.
Evaluate current operations and processes using quantitative and qualitative methods.
Develop metrics to assess effectiveness of mission activities and resource utilization.
Modeling & Simulation: Apply operations research methodologies, models, and simulations to assess mission performance; conduct scenario‑based analysis to evaluate alternatives and predict potential outcomes.
Utilize statistical and mathematical techniques to support operational planning.
Problem Identification & Solution Development: Isolate inefficiencies, formulate and analyze alternative solutions, and provide recommendations based on quantitative evidence and mission requirements.
Reporting & Decision Support: Prepare reports that clearly outline, rank, and justify proposed solutions; present findings and alternatives to senior leaders and stakeholders; support decision‑making by providing business‑case analyses and cost‑benefit evaluations.
Collaboration & Integration: Coordinate with cross‑functional teams across intelligence, operations, and planning communities; ensure analytic methodologies and recommendations are aligned with DoD policy, doctrine, and mission requirements; support integration of analytic solutions into operational and strategic planning efforts.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience performing operations research, quantitative analysis, or decision support in military or government environments.
Demonstrated expertise in modeling, simulation, and business‑case analysis.
Experience in evaluating complex systems, processes, and operations.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present technical findings to non‑technical audiences.
