Role Overview As a Project Engineer – Electrification, you will work directly with the NGDV BEV team to develop BEV powertrain, HV battery and control solutions. You will manage complex engineering projects related to design, integration, validation and troubleshooting of BEV powertrain on delivery vehicles, and provide integration and execution expertise for vehicle control and powertrain systems development.
Responsibilities
Develop powertrain and HV system requirements and validation plans for BEV systems, including e‑propulsion, HV battery system, HV harnesses and distribution system, HV auxiliary systems, and BEV thermal management system.
Lead the controls system integration efforts for various electric powertrain components such as the Drive Unit, HV battery and the Vehicle Control Module.
Develop and own the BEV controls system related features and work with the hardware, software, architecture, safety and other cross‑functional teams to deliver features.
Develop detailed controls interface, communication topology and E/E interface for various electrical powertrain components and electric vehicle integration.
Support the development of controls system test plan and verification of system level functions for electric vehicle.
Lead the cross‑functional development efforts and manage issue escalation & resolution.
Participate in architectural, controls software, system integration and V&V technical discussions and develop technical solutions while representing the BEV function area.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
5+ years of experience in automotive control system or related discipline, or 5+ years in electric vehicle or electrical propulsion.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have
M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems.
Proven technical expertise in Battery‑Electric Vehicle, electrified powertrain and HV Li‑ion battery.
Proficiency in fundamentals of embedded systems design, CAN network and real‑time control systems.
Proficiency in control and calibration tools for automotive control systems.
Experience working cross‑functionally in a dynamic environment and being part of a high‑performing team.
Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
