About the Role Are you a hands‑on Commercial LEAD Engineer ready to lead building operations for one of Charlotte’s premier Class A high‑rise, mixed‑use developments? As the Lead Engineer, you’ll oversee daily building operations, maintenance, and performance of critical systems for a marquee property that defines the Charlotte skyline. You’ll lead a small team, manage vendors, and ensure top‑tier performance across all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems—all while maintaining the highest standards of Class A excellence. There will be a Chief to support you.
What You’ll Do
Lead day‑to‑day operations, maintenance, and engineering functions for a Class A high‑rise mixed‑use property
Oversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety
Manage and mentor a team of engineers and maintenance staff to ensure peak operational performance
Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs and energy efficiency initiatives
Collaborate closely with property management and ownership to maintain Class A standards
Manage vendor contracts, inspections, and capital improvement projects
Respond to tenant needs with professionalism and urgency
What We’re Looking For
10+ years of commercial property engineering experience, including Class A office or mixed‑use buildings
Proven experience leading or supervising maintenance and operations teams
Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and building automation systems (BAS/BMS)
EPA Universal Certification and technical licenses preferred (CFC, HVAC, etc.)
Exceptional communication and leadership skills
Passion for excellence and a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset
