Position Title: Adjunct Faculty, Veterinary Technology

Location: Miami Dade College, Medical Campus

Miami Dade College’s School of Health Sciences is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable

Adjunct Faculty member in Veterinary Technology

to join our team at the Medical Campus. This is an exciting opportunity to educate and inspire the next generation of veterinary professionals in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Position Overview

The Adjunct Instructor will provide high-quality instruction in Veterinary Technology through lectures, laboratory, and/or clinical settings. The ideal candidate is a dedicated educator who thrives on mentoring students, advancing veterinary education, and contributing to program excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in Veterinary Technology courses across lecture, lab, and clinical environments

Develop and update course curricula, instructional materials, and assessments to align with current industry standards

Advise, mentor, and evaluate students to promote academic and professional success

Support student recruitment and retention initiatives within the program

Collaborate with faculty and staff to maintain accreditation standards and program quality

Participate in departmental meetings and college committees as required

Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in any field and Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology from an American Veterinary Medical Association Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (AVMA CVTEA) accredited program

Licensure/Certification: Current Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential from the AAVSB or State of Florida Veterinary Technician Licensure

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of full-time professional and/or instructional experience in the veterinary field

Additional Requirements

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff in a diverse academic community

Flexibility to teach evenings and weekends as needed

Ability to travel between campuses, clinical sites, and partner locations

Proficiency in basic computer applications and online instructional tools
