Position Purpose The Sr Developer II will collaborate and mentor within a small team of developers and business analysts to deliver and oversee development projects for custom business applications and reports. The role works directly with business stakeholders, IT management, and other developers to guide projects to completion, suggest technology and process improvements, and deliver well‑documented solutions that meet stakeholder needs while ensuring proper coding and process standards are followed.
Responsibilities
Mentor other developers, providing guidance on best practices, troubleshooting, estimation, testing, and documentation.
Develop large‑scale enterprise solutions with high complexity.
Oversee creation of design documents such as technical specifications, functional requirements, object modules, system test plans, and user documentation.
Collaborate with developers, project managers, architects, business analysts, and other departments to build new technology and expand existing applications.
Research and propose new technologies and methodologies to improve development.
Lead team code reviews.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
7–10 years’ experience.
Extensive IBM iSeries platform knowledge; fluent in RPG and SQLRPG, with ability to work in RPG Free.
iSeries SQL knowledge.
Ability to translate user requests into functional solutions.
Experience using Turnover or similar change management tools for source control.
Experience in data conversions (flat files, CSV, Excel) to IBM iSeries.
Self‑starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
