The Manufacturing Engineer role focuses on developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure the production of high‑quality aerospace components. The position is located on the Vandalia, OH facility and requires onsite presence five days per week.
Job Summary The Manufacturing Engineer will support the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of aerospace electrical power products. Responsibilities include troubleshooting product failures, implementing root‑cause analysis, driving continuous improvement, and managing projects aimed at improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Role & Responsibilities
Maintain, support, and improve manufacturing/testing processes for aerospace electrical power generating products.
Ensure manufacturing planning clearly communicates sequence and method of production.
Control manufacturing processes and validate design requirements and yield expectations.
Specify/design necessary equipment, tooling, and fixturing.
Troubleshoot product failures, determine root cause, and implement corrective actions.
Disposition and plan rework of non‑conformances.
Use production and quality data to drive process improvements supporting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets.
Lead and interface with production planning, engineering, sourcing, and production teams to complete projects.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including scope definition, planning, scheduling, resources, budget, and compliance.
Initiate and participate in Lean activities.
Utilize structured improvement methodology and problem‑solving tools.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited college/university (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of manufacturing/operations experience).
Desired Qualifications
Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering degree.
Knowledge of aerospace production methods and processes.
Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.
Strong documentation skills.
Strong problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to work in a matrixed, cross‑functional environment.
Additional Information
This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and is only open to U.S. citizens. Proof of status will be required.
Ability and willingness to sit onsite at GE Aerospace facility in Vandalia, OH, five days per week.
Start time is 6:00 am Eastern. Typical work day requires 8‑10 hours based on business needs.
