Accounting Manager
Vernon, CT, Full‑Time

About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced
Accounting Manager
to join our team full‑time. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for overseeing accounting operations, managing client relationships, reviewing work prepared by staff, and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and compliance. The right person will be both a trusted advisor to clients and a supportive mentor to our growing team.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily and periodic accounting operations for multiple clients
Review and finalize financial statements, tax returns, and other client deliverables
Manage and support a team of accountants, providing guidance, feedback, and training
Develop and maintain strong client relationships as a primary point of contact
Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax laws
Coordinate and monitor workflow to meet deadlines efficiently
Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced client service
Stay informed on evolving accounting standards, tax regulations, and technology tools
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred)
7+ years of progressive public accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, tax, and accounting principles
Proficiency in QuickBooks and tax/accounting software
Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively
