Overview

This position plays a critical role in optimizing CelLink’s high-throughput roll-to-roll flexible circuit production lines. This position focuses on the development, scaling, and continuous improvement of complex manufacturing processes, including automation, material flow, and yield optimization. The engineer will work cross-functionally with Process, Equipment, Quality, and Operations teams to increase throughput, improve first-pass yield, and drive system-level efficiency through data and automation tools. This requires a strong background in manufacturing automation, continuous flow material movement and simulation modeling. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize high-volume roll-to-roll automated lines using Lean, Six Sigma, and simulation tools to model, analyze, and improve workflow throughput, cycle times, and labor efficiency. Design and optimize plant layouts, workcells, and continuous flow material movement strategies to support scale-up and ramp events. Partner with Controls and Equipment Engineering to implement automation that reduces variation and operator dependence. Identify and resolve process bottlenecks using root cause analysis, SPC, and other data-driven methodologies. Lead time studies, line balancing, workflow analysis, and capacity modeling to support lean manufacturing initiatives. Develop PFMEAs, control plans, standard work instructions, and visual aids to support production consistency. Champion Kaizen events and train operators/technicians on continuous improvement tools. Collaborate on NPI (new product introduction) to ensure manufacturability and seamless ramp to production. For Level V: Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers. Represent department in leadership-level discussions and strategic planning. Maintain a clean and orderly work area; follow prescribed safety and environmental regulations. Demonstrate CelLink’s culture of integrity, teamwork, self‑discipline, and professional competence; perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills And Abilities)

Experience/Education

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. 5+ years (Level IV) / 8+ years (Level V) of experience in high-volume or automated manufacturing. Experience with roll-to-roll, flexible conveyance systems in a production environment; web handling systems strongly preferred. Proficiency in time studies, process mapping, simulation tools (Arena, FlexSim), and CAD. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Strong foundation in lean manufacturing principles and process mapping Ability to model production line performance and simulate process scenarios Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; experience working cross-functionally Able to lead high-impact projects and influence change in a fast-paced manufacturing setting Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification Familiarity with MES, SCADA systems, ERP, robotics, smart factor technologies and production analytics dashboards Knowledge of OSHA and ISO/IATF quality system requirements Measures of Performance / KPIs

Employees in this role may progress to Senior Industrial Engineer, Staff Engineer, or into people leadership roles such as Manager, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Program Manager. Working Conditions / Hours / Physical Requirements

Full-time, salaried exempt position. Desk/Office situated on or near the manufacturing floor with location varying by site. Periodic exposure to high noise, moving mechanical parts, nuisance dust, and common industrial chemicals; PPE is provided and required where applicable. The role is primarily desk-based but may involve time on the manufacturing floor. May require extended hours and occasional weekends to meet critical program milestones and customer requirements.
