Purpose The Senior Manager, Risk Reporting, will be a key part of the Enterprise Risk function, providing day‑to‑day strategic support to execute the U.S. Risk Management’s mandate and ensure specific goals, plans, and initiatives are achieved.
What You’ll Do
Lead and oversee the annual and ad‑hoc enterprise risk management framework and implementation, including:
Manage the risk appetite statement and set risk tolerances / limits.
Assess the effectiveness of the framework’s implementation.
Execute interconnected risk initiatives (issues management, risk exceptions, committee governance) with proper governance.
Support monthly/quarterly/ad‑hoc risk reporting for management and board level committees and regulatory bodies:
Agenda setting and tracking.
Development of presentation materials and compilation of risk reports.
Meeting minutes drafting.
Other admin activities such as committee membership tracking, charter update, record‑keeping.
Deliver comprehensive strategic support to the leadership team and ensure compliance with internal frameworks.
Identify and execute improvements to risk governance and enterprise risk management practices.
Champion a customer‑focused culture and deepen client relationships.
Understand and apply the bank’s risk appetite and culture in day‑to‑day decisions.
Ensure effective operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s values and global sales principles while maintaining day‑to‑day business controls.
Champion a high‑performance environment and contribute to an inclusive workplace.
What You’ll Bring
7–10 years of experience in enterprise risk function, preferably within financial services (policy writing experience preferred).
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, PowerBI, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Problem‑solving mindset that creates and implements solutions and motivates others.
Highly organized with attention to detail.
Team player.
Ability to prioritize and operate proactively.
Understanding of the importance of organization in a fast‑paced, multi‑stakeholder environment.
