Senior CEQA Air Quality Specialist Location: Remote (California-based) | Reports to any California offices

Base Salary: $100,000 - $155,000

We are seeking a Senior CEQA Air Quality Specialist with a strong technical background in air quality and greenhouse gas (GHG) analyses under CEQA and NEPA. This is a fully remote position, with the flexibility to report to any office locations across California.

About the Role As a Senior CEQA Air Quality Specialist, you will support complex, high-profile environmental documents and planning projects across the state. You will provide technical expertise in air quality and GHG emissions assessments and work collaboratively with experienced teams of environmental planners, transportation planners and engineers, biologists, and archaeologists.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and perform technical analyses of air quality and GHG impacts for CEQA and NEPA documents.

Prepare and review air quality and GHG sections of Initial Studies, Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs).

Conduct and interpret air dispersion modeling using tools such as CalEEMod, EMFAC, AERMOD, CALINE4, and others.

Coordinate with internal technical teams and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and technical accuracy.

Mentor junior staff and review modeling outputs and documentation.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of experience in air quality and GHG technical analysis under CEQA and NEPA.

Strong expertise in air modeling software including CalEEMod, EMFAC, AERMOD, CALINE4, and related tools.

Proven experience authoring technical sections of CEQA/NEPA documents.

Strong understanding of California environmental regulations and policies related to air quality and climate change.

Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, atmospheric science, or a related field.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary : $100,000 - $155,000, commensurate with experience
