A leading Texas commercial general contractor is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to join its growing Dallas area team. This role is ideal for an ambitious construction professional ready to take the next step in their career – working alongside experienced project leaders and gaining hands‑on experience managing ground‑up and renovation projects from start to finish.
Position Overview
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will support the Project Manager in all aspects of project delivery, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination. This position offers exposure to every stage of construction and provides a clear path toward full Project Management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in project setup, budgeting, scheduling, and document control
Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle
Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and completeness
Support procurement, contract administration, and change management
Track RFIs, submittals, and project correspondence through Procore or similar platforms
Attend site meetings, monitor progress, and assist in problem‑solving with field teams
Help ensure safety, quality, and schedule goals are consistently met
Qualifications
2‑5+ years of experience in commercial construction; prior APM or Project Engineer experience preferred
Experience supporting ground‑up or large‑scale renovation projects with a general contractor
Strong understanding of construction documents, processes, and terminology
Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar)
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
