Manager, Strategic Sourcing

Overview

With more than 125 years of scientific expertise and a presence in more than 20 countries, the group seeks a strategic sourcing manager to partner with internal senior stakeholders to lead, assess, develop, negotiate and execute strategic sourcing activities (U.S. and Global). The role ensures best value for cost, quality, account management, and timelines across the business.
Responsibilities
Lead all strategic sourcing efforts from vendor assessment, RFP, negotiation, award and contracting for DS products and alliances.
Develop comprehensive global category management strategies with in‑depth spend analysis, key insights, marketplace intelligence and trend monitoring to inform business budgeting and supplier utilization decisions.
Partner with senior business stakeholders across functions to understand objectives and create annual plans aligned with sourcing strategies.
Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance meets expected service levels and drive innovation.
Conduct complex bid analysis, commercial contract negotiations and execution, collaborating with stakeholders such as Marketing, Legal, and IT.
Ensure contracts include appropriate terms and mitigate risks, executed in accordance with company policies.
Develop and execute risk management strategies to protect DSI and DS Group and assure continued supply.
Deliver cost reduction and value‑added benefits to meet annual department and business savings targets, using approved savings calculation methods.
Identify new sourcing value opportunities and recommend best‑in‑class processes and tools.
Integrate the Small Business Administration plan and P2P continuous improvement into all sourcing activities.
Build strong relationships with preferred suppliers and actively manage the preferred supply base for assigned categories.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA and/or Certified Professional in Supply Management (C.P.S.M.) highly desired.
Minimum of 5 years strategic sourcing experience.
Experience in supplier management and contract management.
Indirect procurement and pharma experience preferred.
Experience with e‑Procurement tools.
Leadership in cross‑functional or global teams.
Proficiency in category management, process improvement, project management, and supplier performance measurement.
Knowledge in contract management, financial analysis, market analysis, supplier analysis, and supplier diversity.
Experience in pharmaceutical industry procurement, including marketing, media planning, market access, market research, and patient assistance programs preferred.
