The Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs (FDVA) seeks to hire talented and dedicated individuals who share our commitment to excellence. The incumbent in this position serves as a Distributed Computer Systems Consultant for the Agency and reports to the Distributed Computer Systems Analyst II.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science. Professional experience can substitute on a year‑for‑year basis for the required bachelor’s degree.

3 years experience supporting customers face‑to‑face.

3 years experience supporting Microsoft Entra.

3 years experience supporting Microsoft Intune.

3 years experience supporting print management.

3 years experience configuring FIDO2 keys.

Possess and maintain a current driver’s license and can travel within the state of Florida.

Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. of equipment.

Successful completion of the due diligence process, including a Level II background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting Long Term Care facilities.

Knowledge of Protected Health Information.

Reside in the county for the specific work location.

Travel within the region to other facilities when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent serves as the Distributed Computer Systems Consultant for the FDVA and is tasked with supporting staff members on‑site at the assigned location within the county of the Long-Term Care Facility. Responsibilities include configuring and supporting endpoints for staff members, printers, FIDO2 keys, and cloud solutions; ensuring 99.99% uptime; applying security patches to all endpoints; working with the core networking team to resolve DHCP and DNS issues; completing inventory requirements for all equipment; and participating in technology onboarding of new staff.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: A forward‑thinking individual with a passion for innovation and emerging technologies, capable of digitally transforming an antiquated ecosystem. The candidate listens to others, asks probing questions to identify gaps, conducts tests to validate equipment and software, and transitions the environment to a cloud‑native DevOps architecture through critical thinking, long‑term planning, and coordination of training sessions. Skills include planning, organizing, coordinating work assignments, logical information processing, troubleshooting, collaborative and independent work, clear communication, professionalism in all circumstances, rapid learning, meticulous attention to detail, analysis of technical data, and project‑level stakeholder engagement.

Other Job‑Related Requirements:

Travel within the State of Florida.
