The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research. We are the world's largest private, nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's disease research. Have you or your family been impacted by Alzheimer's or a related dementia?
Here's a fun way to give back and make a difference in your community! We are looking for passionate Alzheimer's Ambassadors to serve on the Do What You Love to END ALZ Volunteer Committee across South Carolina. You can help the Alzheimers Association realize our vision of a world without Alzheimer's disease and all other dementia, by helping with the Do What you Love to END ALZ event in your community. You can join the fight to ENDALZ YOUR WAY through Do What You Love to ENDALZ. This flexible fundraiser starts with you doing something you love to support the Alzheimers Association. No matter what your passion or pastime is, you can make it a fundraiser to end Alzheimers and all other dementia. Volunteers are needed across South Carolina to fill three teams Leadership Team: Recruit & lead volunteers to achieve the event growth goals Participant Engagement Team: Keep current & past participants engaged Community Outreach Team: Promote the event and secure new participants Ideal volunteers would have some of these traits : Be passionate about ending Alzheimer's, be creative, be enthusiastic about volunteering, enjoy connecting with others, be comfortable talking on the phone, be willing to drop by local groups and businesses, be committed to promoting Do What You Love to END ALZ whenever they can, and be willing to participate also by registering their own fundraiser. Volunteer Ambassadors should be based in South Carolina. Timeline & Commitment : We have two 6 month terms but welcome volunteers year round also. The Fall term runs from August to January and the Spring term runs January to July. The role requires a commitment of 1-2 hours a week. The work is flexible and we try to tailor your volunteer experience to your interests and needs. Getting Started : New volunteers are on-boarded to the team monthly on an ongoing basis. Local staff will help you get trained and provide ongoing support such as scripts and event materials. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
