MHC Fellows - Transportation Riders United (TRU) Join the MI Healthy Climate Fellows (MHC Fellows) and make a lasting impact on Michigan’s carbon‑neutral future! The MHC Fellows program accelerates Michigan’s climate action through capacity building and leadership development. Fellows serve across the state to advance the MI Healthy Climate Plan’s (MHCP) goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, a plan unveiled by Governor Gretchen Whitmer in April 2022 to avert the worst impacts of the climate crisis, create good‑paying jobs, position Michigan as a climate leader, and build a healthier, more prosperous, equitable, and sustainable state for all Michiganders.

About the Host Partner Transportation Riders United (TRU) is a Detroit‑based nonprofit organization that has worked for 25 years advocating for improved public transportation throughout the metro Detroit region. TRU educates, advocates, and mobilizes for more and better transit and other affordable sustainable mobility options. In partnership with organizations throughout the state, TRU is launching a diverse new statewide coalition working to advance equitable electrification, expanded public transit options, safe active mobility infrastructure, and other clean, affordable mobility solutions throughout Michigan.
