Platform Engineer
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Platform Engineer to join a cutting-edge team focused on building and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about Kubernetes-based architectures, Infrastructure as Code, and supporting distributed microservice environments. Responsibilities of the Platform Engineer include: Design, implement, and maintain platform infrastructure leveraging Kubernetes-based architecture. Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or similar tools. Collaborate with software teams to support distributed microservice capabilities using Python. Integrate and manage monitoring tools such as New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, and AWS CloudWatch. Configure and troubleshoot networking components including VPNs, NLB/ALBs, HTTPS, TLS, and CDN. Operate within Unix/Linux environments to ensure platform stability and performance. Qualifications for the Platform Engineer include: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. 3+ years of experience in platform engineering or related roles. Strong proficiency in Python and Terraform (or equivalent IaC tools). Experience with Kubernetes and microservices architecture. Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools. Solid understanding of networking principles and security protocols. Active TS/SCI clearance required. Compensation for the Platform Engineer includes: Salary Range: $120,000-185,000 depending on experience.
