Commercial Sales Manager
Location: ST. JOHNS SHIP BUILDING, Palatka, FL

Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday; 8:00 am – 4:00 pm; evenings and weekends as needed.
Position Summary The Commercial Sales Manager is responsible for driving the company’s commercial sales efforts in new construction and vessel repair markets. This role manages the full sales lifecycle—from lead generation and proposal development through contract award. Once contracts are signed, responsibility is transferred to Project Management and Production, with the Sales Manager supporting customer satisfaction through proactive relationship management. This strategic client‑facing role requires professionalism, initiative, ethical accountability, and collaboration with internal departments to align sales strategy with business objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and implement sales strategies that support company growth goals and increase market share in commercial marine sectors.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through outreach, industry networking, and market research.
Coordinate and lead proposal development, pricing strategy, and commercial term negotiations with internal stakeholders.
Support contract negotiation through award and ensure clear handoff to Project Management and Production after execution.
Maintain active communication with clients throughout the project life to ensure satisfaction and reinforce long‑term relationships.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client site visits to promote brand awareness and business development.
Prepare and present sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and business development updates to executive leadership.
Collaborate on developing and refining sales tools, processes, and reporting systems to improve efficiency and performance.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience
Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial sales or business development, preferably in shipbuilding, marine construction, or industrial manufacturing.
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build long‑term client relationships.
Understanding of marine industry contracting processes and terminology.
Ability to collaborate across functional teams including estimating, finance, and project management.
High attention to detail, with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM tools is a plus.
Self‑motivated, results‑driven, and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
