The mission of the Florida State Guard is to protect and preserve the life and property of the people of Florida from all threats to public safety through rapid deployment of ground, maritime, and air capabilities in partnership with state and local agencies. The Florida State Guard is paid on a monthly basis.
Applicants may need to provide documentation such as a High School Diploma, College Transcripts, etc. to verify these minimum qualifications.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field and two (2) years of professional accounting experience; or any combination of non‑professional or professional experience and college education of 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours for each year, provided such education includes two courses in accounting.
Can substitute on a year‑for‑year basis for the required experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Processes payment of all invoices, purchasing card transactions, travel reimbursements, and payroll on all assigned General Revenue accounts. This includes researching payment status and requisition reconciliations.
Balances monthly, Florida State Guard Financial Tracking System (FSGFTS) program with Florida Accounting and Information Resource (FLAIR) reports. Researches and corrects all balancing errors and works previous year accounts until all appropriation is fully expended.
Reviews invoices and contacts vendors for missing invoices to correct discrepancies. Prepares monthly balance statements and profit & loss statements for distribution to the Finance & Accounting office.
Attends quarterly reviews on all assigned agreements and prepares memos, liability lists, and other documentation as required by supervisor.
Performs related duties as required.

Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of the methods of data collection.
Ability to prepare financial statements and reports.
Ability to design and implement accounting systems.
Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.
Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data.
Ability to apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to an accounting program.
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to work independently and utilize problem‑solving techniques.
