Base pay range
$80,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Green Key Resources The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and performing advanced accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in financial reporting. This role will support month‑end and year‑end close processes, lead reconciliations, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting. The Senior Accountant also mentors junior staff and ensures internal controls are robust. Key Responsibilities
Lead the month‑end and year‑end close processes: prepare and post journal entries, accruals, adjustments. Maintain, reconcile, and analyze general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and other financial statements. Prepare, review, and present GAAP‑compliant financial statements and divisional financial packages. Conduct detailed account reconciliations (bank, intercompany, fixed assets, etc.) and resolve discrepancies. Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of supporting schedules, responding to auditor questions, and coordinating audit requests. Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, collaborating with cross‑functional teams (e.g. operations, sales). Strengthen, document, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures. Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation. Supervise, mentor, or train junior accounting staff (e.g. staff accountants, accounting assistants). Act as a liaison between accounting, finance, and other departments. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and company policies. Ad hoc financial projects, closing special accounts, or support for strategic initiatives. Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). CPA, CMA, or working toward certification is strongly preferred. Typically 3‑5+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting, corporate accounting, or industry). Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles. Proficiency with accounting / ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, macros). Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication skills — able to translate numbers to non‑financial stakeholders. Attention to detail, accuracy, and a strong sense of ownership. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure. Experience in audit support, internal controls, and process documentation. Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus. Seniority level
