Advanced Practice Provider - Inpatient General Pediatrics Join as an Experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant on our Inpatient General Pediatrics team at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), located in King of Prussia, PA.

Overview CHOP offers a diverse, innovative environment where you will work with a dedicated team to deliver high‑acuity inpatient and outpatient care. Your responsibilities will include direct patient care, clinical consultations, education, and research. You will be involved in both on‑shift and off‑shift duties, covering nights, weekends, and holidays per clinical needs.

Responsibilities

Assess complex acute, critical and chronically ill patients for urgent and emergent conditions, using relevant data to evaluate physiological instability and formulate a care plan.

Perform therapeutic interventions to stabilize acute and critical health problems, as approved in the Scope of Practice Document.

Analyze indications, contraindications, risk of complications, and cost‑benefits of therapeutic interventions.

Manage the plan of care through evaluation, modification and documentation according to patient response, focusing on optimizing outcomes.

Incorporate health promotion, protection and injury prevention measures into the plan of care.

Facilitate patient transitions between and within health‑care settings.

Serve as an educational resource to patients/families, nursing staff, and the provider team; act as a consultant to multidisciplinary team members.

Participate in scholarly activities, including research and education; engage in continuous professional development and mentorship.

Demonstrate commitment to patient safety; speak up about safety issues and share errors through system reporting, demonstrating shared accountability.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.

Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant required.

Acute/critical care education and certification preferred.

Strong communication and inter‑professional teamwork skills.

Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and clinical decision support tools.

Education

Master’s Degree, Nursing – Required.

Master’s Degree, Physician Assistant – Required.

Licenses and Certifications

Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) – upon hire.

Registered Nurse (New Jersey) – upon hire.

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) (Pennsylvania) – upon hire.

Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) (New Jersey) – upon hire.

Prescriptive Authority (Pennsylvania) – within 3 months.

Prescriptive Authority (New Jersey) – within 3 months.

Specialty certification matching scope of practice – upon hire.

Certified Physician Assistant (PA‑C) (Pennsylvania/New Jersey) – upon hire.

National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants – upon hire.

Salary Range $115,060.00 – $152,450.00 annually. This range reflects full‑time positions; part‑time compensation will be adjusted proportionally. The role is eligible for an incentive program.
