Base pay: $106,898.00/yr - $131,665.00/yr
Job Description
Serve as Director of the Geneva District Office responsible for management and implementation of environmental health programs in Ontario, Wayne, and Yates counties.
Assist in policy development and implementation across public health program areas.
Plan, manage, and supervise technical and support staff; oversee regulations of public water supplies, food service establishments, swimming pools, bathing beaches, temporary residences, child’s camps, mobile home parks, tobacco enforcement, and other environmental health services.
Conduct preparedness planning, emergency response, and investigation of environmental contamination and disease outbreaks.
Represent the Department of Health in dealings with the public and with State and local agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, environmental health, public health, or related field AND four years of professional experience focused on investigating, assessing, or controlling health impacts of environmental or occupational exposures.
Two years of that experience must have included technical leadership and supervision of technical/professional staff in a public health governmental agency.
Advanced degrees may substitute for experience (Master’s for one year, Ph.D. for two years).
Leadership experience must include scientific/technical development, program planning, staffing, and policy development.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing, implementing, and enforcing regulations.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑management skills.
Proficiency with EHIPS, SDWIS, and Microsoft Office applications.
