Plans and implements a program of instruction that adheres to the company’s philosophy, goals and objectives as outlined in the adopted courses of study. Creates purposeful and effective lesson plans that provide for engaging teaching strategies and maximize time on task. Presents subject matter to students to maximize learning opportunities with real-world, application-based examples. Maintains accurate and complete student records and reviews student records to understand each student’s abilities and needs. Motivates students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge to provide a solid educational foundation. Uses a variety of learning modalities and differentiates instruction within lessons. Uses diagnostic assessment and maintains appropriate student records; assesses strengths and weaknesses regularly and provides activities to address needs. Refers students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel; assigns lessons and reviews student work and presentations. Coordinates class field trips as required and prepares students for state-required achievement assessments. Keeps current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory; contributes to curriculum improvement and selection of instructional materials. Collaborates with colleagues to enhance the school’s curriculum and supports supplemental services beneficial to students. Classroom Environment
Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to students’ maturity and interests. Maintains positive rapport with students and demonstrates patience and nurturing to support student growth. Ensures a clean, safe classroom with student work displayed as appropriate and implements relevant policies governing student conduct. Develops reasonable rules of classroom and playground behavior in accordance with CSUSA policy and guidelines and maintains order in a fair and consistent manner. Instructional Planning
Develops lesson plans consistent with established guidelines and goals. Plans individual and group learning activities to meet instructional objectives and students’ needs. Prepares for classes and demonstrates evidence of preparation upon request. Participates with other staff in curriculum planning during designated meetings. Incorporates diagnostic information as required in students’ IEPs into planning. Protects supplies, equipment, materials, and facilities needed to implement the instructional program. School/Community Relations
Establishes cooperative relations and communicates with parents/guardians when appropriate. Communicates clearly and positively with parents via appropriate channels; cooperates with administration, staff, and CSUSA. Maintains confidentiality regarding student records and participates in parent communication activities. Participates in extracurricular activities to support a positive school culture (as required). Required Qualifications And Skills
Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment to the position and the mission of the company; supports CSUSA values in academic excellence, operational performance, culture, and growth. Strong time management and organizational skills; the ability to prioritize. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, parents, the community, and administration. Excellent communication skills: oral, written, interpersonal, and negotiating abilities. Reliability in showing up on time, following instructions, and seeking feedback to improve. Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Student Information System (SIS) and email. Commitment to quality, accuracy, and best practices; support for positive character education. Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent. Valid teaching certification as appropriate. Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of successful teaching experience (may include student teaching/internship). Equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong command of grade/subject content and learning theory including motivation, reinforcement, evaluation, and feedback techniques. Understanding of and commitment to company values. Successful results of criminal and employment background checks. Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills with adherence to the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession. May include other duties as assigned. Usual school working conditions; may be noisy during high student activity. Physical Demands
