Data Analyst – Payroll
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our Payroll team. This cross-functional role is essential to advancing our Business Intelligence initiatives and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization. As an integral member of the team, you will be responsible for generating operational reports, evaluating data, maintaining reporting tools, and presenting key findings to stakeholders.
You will collaborate closely with Payroll, HR, and Talent Acquisition leaders, as well as subject matter experts, to meet operational requirements and drive process improvements. Your work will support critical functions such as payroll and HRIS analysis, workforce planning, recruiting performance, and compliance tracking.
In addition to supporting special projects, you will serve as a subject-matter expert in our HRIS platform (Dayforce), ensuring data integrity and consistency. You will transform complex datasets into actionable insights through dashboards and visualizations that highlight key business metrics. The ideal candidate communicates data concepts clearly, thrives in a collaborative environment, and brings a thoughtful, structured approach to problem-solving.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports across HR, recruiting, and payroll functions to support workforce planning, compliance, and strategic decision-making
- Collect, organize, and analyze employee, candidate, and compensation data to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights
- Support seamless data exchange and system integration by leveraging APIs and file feed processes across HR platforms
- Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, and Payroll teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective data solutions
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance data integrity, accuracy, and consistency in Dayforce.
- Create visualizations and presentations that communicate key HR, recruiting, and payroll metrics to stakeholders, including leadership
- Provide training and guidance to HR, recruiting, and payroll team members on new reports, system enhancements, and data initiatives with professionalism and clarity
- Lead and support cross-functional projects through all phases: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and post-implementation review
- Contribute to other HR initiatives and business support efforts as assigned by the manager
To Achieve Success at YES
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Experience using SQL to extract and manipulate data for reporting and analysis across varied datasets
- Self-starter with ability to work under deadlines and minimal supervision
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
- High degree of critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn from and collaborate with a diverse team
- Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills
- Experience training team members in person or virtual
- Understanding of project and change management
- Desire for professional growth
- Proficient in using XML to build and manage complex data-driven forms for integration with internal systems or external platforms.
Compensation: $80-85k + 10% annual bonus opportunity
