Systems Administrator Job Description
ValidaTek is seeking a Systems Administrator who will install, configure, and maintain computer systems and services for a large IT modernization and transformational program for our DISA customer. The Tier 2 Analyst will provide in-depth troubleshooting for software, hardware, and networking problems. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for ensuring systems and servers uptime, performance, and security. Responsibilities
Installing, configuring, and updating hardware and software for servers and workstations. Creating and managing user accounts and determining user access levels for network resources. Monitoring systems performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure efficient operation. Implementing and administering security policies, patch vulnerabilities, and ensuring systems adhere to security best practices. Performing regular backups, implement disaster recovery procedures, and manage storage. Provide technical support to users, troubleshoot system and application issues, and resolve problems with workstations. Develop scripts to automate routine tasks, monitor systems, and streamline diagnostics. Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must have: 3 to 7 years of experience as a systems admin for increasingly larger and more complex IT environments supporting federal government contracts. Proficiency with Windows Server, Linux, and macOS. Understanding of LANs, WANs, and network security. Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience with technologies like VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V. Ability to use scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, etc.) to automate tasks. Knowledge of security principles, firewalls, data protection, and vulnerability management. Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex system and application issues. Strong communication skills as well as a customer service orientation to resolving end-user problems. A TS/SCI clearance. A bachelor's degree in systems engineering or computer science or related degree or equivalent work experience. Salary
USD $79,648.00/Yr. USD $132,746.67/Yr. Salary Disclosure
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications. The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance.
