Senior Planner – Civil Engineering

About the Company
Our client is a leading UK civil engineering contractor, delivering major infrastructure and development projects across transport, utilities, and public realm sectors. With a strong pipeline of work in the London and South East region, they are now seeking a
Senior Planner
to join their expanding project delivery team in
Enfield .
The Role
As a
Senior Planner , you’ll play a key role in developing, monitoring, and reporting on project programmes for a range of complex civil engineering schemes. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure programmes are realistic, achievable, and delivered to client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, update, and maintain detailed project programmes using
Primavera P6
(and/or MS Project).
Monitor progress, identify potential delays, and propose mitigation strategies.
Support tender submissions with planning input, methodologies, and programme logic.
Liaise with design, commercial, and construction teams to ensure programme accuracy and alignment.
Attend project progress meetings and present programme updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Analyse productivity data and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
Degree-qualified
in
Civil Engineering
or a related discipline (essential).
Proven experience in a
planning role
within a
civil engineering or infrastructure environment
(highways, utilities, rail, or similar).
Strong working knowledge of
Primavera P6 .
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery in a contracting environment.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure.
