The Senior Master Production Scheduler is a key leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence across the supply chain to ensure 100% customer satisfaction and achievement of OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery goals. This role leads, manages, and holds accountable (LMA) cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination between demand planning, production scheduling, inventory control, and customer service.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Lead, Manage, and Hold Accountable (LMA): Provide clear direction and accountability for scheduling and planning functions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and supply chain (Sales, Operations, Procurement, Customer Service) to align production plans with business objectives. Drive a culture of ownership, discipline, and continuous improvement. Production Scheduling & Planning: Will be required to develop the MRP process as well as work with and implement various systems including Shop Floor Control, Product Data Management, Forecasting, Demand Planning, and Inventory Management. Provide Production Plan for operations based on sales demand within manufacturing capacities. Translate sales forecasts into actionable production plans using MRP and ERP systems. Monitor and adjust schedules to respond to changes in demand, supply disruptions, or capacity constraints. Systems & Process Development: Implement and enhance systems such as MRP, Shop Floor Control, Product Data Management, and Demand Planning tools. Lead initiatives to improve forecasting accuracy and inventory optimization. Inventory Management: Plan, establish, and maintain optimal inventory levels to maximize inventory turns and minimize excess or obsolete stock. Ensure 95%+ product availability across all purchased and manufactured components. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between Manufacturing/Operations and Sales/Customer Service to ensure alignment on priorities and timelines. Performance Metrics & Reporting: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including OTIF, inventory turns, schedule adherence, and forecast accuracy. Identify trends and adjust, coordinating demand forecasting within the supply chain, and coordinating promotional forecasting. Organization Relationships:
The Master Production Scheduler reports directly to the EVP MFG & ENG and has a support responsibility to all functional directors, managers, and personnel throughout the Supply Chain and Operations Functions (shipping, warehouse activities, order fulfillment, inventory management). The Master Productions Scheduler has the responsibility to manage and oversee (LMA) the Plant 1 Production Scheduler and the Plant 2 Production Scheduler, and Shipping Coordinator, and P2 Cycle Counter. Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management or equivalent in education and training. Minimum of 5-8 years experience in a high volume, continuously changing environment, such as Production, Factory Planning, or Distribution with a strong understanding in the areas of Lean Manufacturing concepts and theories. Demonstration of developing Supply Chain expertise, well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, interpersonal and teaming skills, and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
