We represent an early-stage robotics startup based in the U.S., building rugged, scalable robots for situational awareness in hazardous environments. Their technology supports firefighting, emergency response, public safety, oil and gas, defense, and industrial operations. Their mission is to create a new of reliable, scalable robots that provide critical solutions in some of the world’s most dangerous environments. The company is backed by top-tier investors and is actively collaborating with more than 80 major fire departments, law enforcement agencies, industrial teams, and military units across the country. Their robots are built in partnership with the people who need them most—first responders, firefighters, and emergency crews. They\'re still early, a tight-knit team developing the next of our robot after multiple prototypes, demos, and pilots. Our client is developing a first-of-its-kind robotic platform and need a Senior Mechanical Engineer to help bring it from concept to production. You will lead mechanical and electromechanical systems through the full product lifecycle, from design to testing and field deployment. This role offers autonomy, ownership, and the chance to shape real-world products. Key Responsibilities
Lead design and development of mechanical and electromechanical systems Collaborate with the founding team to define requirements and final solutions Create and test prototypes using 3D CAD and FEA tools Conduct system analyses to ensure strength, reliability, and performance Develop test procedures, fixtures, and tools Investigate and solve hardware issues during development and deployment Document designs, tests, and findings Ensure compliance with mechanical, thermal, and environmental standards Communicate with users to guide engineering direction Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field 5+ years of mechanical design and analysis experience Proficiency in CAD and FEA software (Solidworks, Ansys) Strong understanding of mechanics, materials, and engineering fundamentals Familiar with GD&T and product lifecycle management Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering 10+ years of experience, ideally with robotic systems Experience leading product development at a startup Strong entrepreneurial or leadership background Additional Requirements
