Position Summary

The focus of San Francisco, CA based Barrigel Procedural Specialist is to lead, assist and support all clinical activities related to the training of customers and sales personnel for Barrigel products and procedures. Facilitates the education of healthcare providers with regard to the science behind, and appropriate medical use of Barrigel for perirectal spacing prior to radiation therapy. This includes didactic training, phantom training, live case proctoring and practitioner skill assessment.

Serve as Subject Matter Expert regarding Barrigel, rectal spacing and radiotherapy within their sales area

Communicate closely with the regional Area Director(s) and their sales teams to coordinate and execute territory case coverage and HCP training

Consistently train, assess, and re-train (as needed) Barrigel sales representatives on Barrigel injection technique

Support online training initiatives for customers as required

Proctor customer phantom training for customers in coordination with Area Director prioritization and the Barrigel training curriculum

Attend and lead (as needed) OR-based patient Barrigel cases for customers performing their first Barrigel injections as dictated by supervisor

Schedule and prioritize work flow in conjunction with Head of Barrigel Development and Area Directors

Attain all necessary certifications to maintain consistent OR access

Develop and/or maintain expertise in radiotherapy, related imaging with a specific focus on Transrectal Ultrasound (TRUS)

Work strategically with each regional Spacing Consultant to identify and build relationships with appropriate new targets to help same-site-sales growth

Follow all clinical reporting protocols required by Palette, FDA or any other governing body as necessary

Performs other related duties as assigned

Education / Experience Requirements BA in Business (or related discipline such as Biology or sciences) or equivalent work experience / related practical experience.

Minimum of 5 years clinical training and/or sales experience within the global Healthcare industry

Ultrasound clinical/selling experience a plus

Urology and/or Radiation Oncology medical device experience is strongly preferred

This position requires a dynamic hands-on professional who relishes a fast-paced environment, yet shows a detailed expertise of the product, procedure and provides solutions in time-critical situations.

Significant experience working with a wide variety of ultrasound platforms heavily preferred.

Industry

Familiar with GCP guidelines and is Certified

Ability to work in accordance with local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Understands and follows Advamed guidelines as appropriate

Updated vendor credentials for facility access (Vendormate, Reptrax et.)

Ability to work in clinical planning and tracking systems, and learn new systems readily

Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) required

Familiar with medical terminologies and imaging (Ultrasound, CT, MRI)

Manages administrative responsibilities, such as e-mail, voicemail, expense reports, and activity reporting in a timely manner

Strong verbal communication, presentation and written skills to internal company personnel and external customers - Customer Focused

Experience with training/proctoring physicians and clinical staff in medical devices

Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with difficult people or situations

Ability to work efficiently in a high pressure environments with simultaneous demands

Manage travel within approved budget for in-person training, in conjunction with remote proctoring

Ability to travel domestically up to 50%

TRAVEL REQUIRED: 50% The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $110k-$160k (inclusive of commissions) however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Commissions will also vary depending on individual performance. The total compensation package for this position will also include benefits such as medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, participation in 401(k) savings plan, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
