We are seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Actuary to lead actuarial initiatives across dental and vision insurance products. This role is instrumental in shaping product strategy and driving profitability. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, advanced data modeling capabilities, and excels in collaborating with executive stakeholders to influence enterprise-wide decisions.

Key Responsibilities Executive Collaboration & Strategic Influence

Partner with senior leadership to align actuarial strategy with corporate objectives and growth initiatives.

Present complex actuarial and data modeling insights to senior leadership in clear, actionable terms.

Contribute to enterprise-level planning, including financial forecasting, product strategy, and risk management.

Serve as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team on dental and vision insurance trends, pricing strategy, and market dynamics.

Lead pricing strategy and model development for dental and vision insurance products across group and individual markets.

Collaborate with product and underwriting teams to design innovative, competitive, and profitable benefit plans.

Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic pricing decisions.

Reserving & Forecasting

Oversee reserving methodologies and ensure adequacy of claim liabilities for dental and vision lines.

Drive forecasting and trend analysis to support financial planning and budgeting.

Ensure actuarial assumptions and methodologies are aligned with business objectives and regulatory standards.

Provide actuarial support and analysis for rate and product filings.

Advanced Data Modeling & Analytics

Develop and maintain sophisticated actuarial and predictive models to support pricing, reserving, and utilization analysis.

Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to identify emerging trends and cost drivers.

Leverage tools such as R, Python, SQL, and Excel to build scalable, transparent, and reproducible models.

Champion the integration of data science and actuarial methods to enhance decision-making.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.

Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) strongly preferred; ASA with extensive experience considered.

7+ years of actuarial experience, with a strong focus on dental and/or vision insurance.

Proven experience collaborating with executive leadership and influencing strategic decisions.

Advanced proficiency in data modeling and analytics tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL, Excel).

Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex actuarial concepts into business insights.

Preferred Skills

Deep understanding of dental and vision claims data, provider networks, and benefit structures.

Experience with multi-state regulatory filings and rate development.

Strong business acumen and ability to lead through influence in a matrixed environment.

The target hiring range for this role is $139,910 - $164,600 (Annually). The starting base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors.
