Poughkeepsie, New York Program Director Full Time 35 hour per week. $53,285/yearly
Pleasant Valley Location
Planning and Facilitating:
Identifies and reaches out to community
Plans, initiates and organizes all consensus building activities among stakeholders in the community
Brings together and facilitates meetings among stakeholders
Facilitates and coordinates the collection of all data
Organizes, recruits and implements all other VPS activities:
Liaison with county & federal veterans' organizations
Organize and operate network of peer-facilitated support groups for veterans and/or their families
Provide individual and family advocacy as needed
Organize provider advisory network & facilitate regular meetings
Plan quarterly or more frequent socialization/family events for all program participants as well as related staff, stakeholders, advisory members
Recruitment, outreach, & engagement
II. Support and Advocacy, I&R
Ensures that program provides ongoing support and advocacy to clients of the program, including individuals and/or families as needed; provides knowledge of resources
Acts as liaison among all parties and stakeholders to the
III. Training & Supervision
Ensures that all staff (including self) & volunteers are trained in some or all of these or similar trainings (priority items listed below):
SAFE Curriculum (Support & Family Education)
Mental Health First Aid*
Suicide Prevention (ASIST, SafeTalk, QPR, or other)*
Active listening
Signs & Symptoms of PTSD, TBI, Co-occurring Disorders and other mental health conditions*
Monitors and evaluates
IV. Administration and Promotion
Responsible for all reporting
Promotes project throughout Dutchess County by providing information, speaking engagements, and through the
Builds and maintains relationships with constituencies vital to the growth of the
Maintains knowledge of the research and outcomes associated with veterans'
Contribution: Actively participate in cooperative efforts of FSAS Department; participate in activities that contribute to the overall welfare of the agency; undertake other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a veteran.
Education: Bachelor of Arts or Sciences in human services field preferred
Five years of experience in human services, with supervisory and/or volunteer coordination preferred.
An understanding of the population being served, its needs, intervention strategies, culture, and available services.
