Overview
AdvantageCare Physicians (ACPNY) is a primary and specialty care practice serving half a million patients across the New York metropolitan area. With more than 30 medical offices across New York City's five boroughs and Long Island, ACPNY is expanding our practice and services. We are seeking a Gastroenterology trained physician to join us full time to provide Gastroenterology services including diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance. Responsibilities
Collect and record patient information, such as medical histories, reports and examination results; maintain complete and accurate medical records. Review patient history and perform physical examinations. Evaluate, diagnose and provide appropriate treatment for disorders and diseases related to gastroenterology, including malabsorption, IBS, colon and bowel cancers, pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer, taking into account the patient’s psychosocial and physical needs. Recommend suitable management, including preventive health recommendations and habits. Prescribe medications and formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans. Perform a wide range of non-invasive gastroenterology procedures. Communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care. Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings. Qualifications
Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or foreign equivalent; completion of four year post graduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in area of practice and three years of U.S. gastroenterology fellowship training. Licenses/Certifications: Current, unrestricted New York State license; active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration or eligible; active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or eligible to enroll; Board Eligible/Board Certified in Gastroenterology. Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Seeking both experienced and newly trained providers; Board Eligible/Board Certified in Gastroenterology; strong communication skills (oral and written); comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office; interest in Population Health Management. Other: BLS or ACLS certification (preferred). Employment details
