We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our team in Syracuse, New York. This contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic legal environment while showcasing your organizational and administrative skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal support and a keen attention to detail. Prepare and file legal documents electronically, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court requirements. - Manage legal calendars, including scheduling appointments, hearings, and deadlines. - Transcribe dictation and draft correspondence, legal documents, and reports as needed. - Handle debt collection processes, including preparing summons, managing payments, and executing transactions. - Maintain clear and effective communication with clients and legal teams via phone and email. - Support attorney with administrative tasks and case management. - At least 1 year of experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role. - Ability to perform accurate dictation transcription and document preparation. - Knowledge of debt collection processes, including payments and summons. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective phone etiquette. - Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures. - Exposure/proficiency with CLS software a plus.
