Overview We are seeking a versatile communications professional to plan, create, and distribute essential information across our Commercial, Elections, Notary, Archives, and Museums divisions. If you thrive on variety and want to make a real impact on public understanding, this role is for you.

Experience and Education Minimum experience requirements:
Three years of experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, content creation, social media management, or graphic design; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience toward the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours, which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Job Duties This position crosses agency areas and performs communication functions for the Commercial, Elections, Notary, Archives, and Museums Programs. The incumbent is responsible for planning, development, preparation, and dissemination of various information materials, news releases, and projects for the Department of State regarding all ongoing programs.
Manage social media platform initiatives.
Manage the agency website content.
Act as a media contact and respond to media inquiries.
Provide guidance and assistance to staff on dissemination of information for specific projects.
Design informational materials such as advertisements, press kits, brochures and flyers.
Promote voter education through the Voter Outreach program.
Meet with the media, Legislature, public and private agencies regarding agency initiatives and educational programs.
Write and prepare commendations, proclamations, and honorary certificates.
