Summary As an IT Technician specializing in Cabling and Camera Systems, you will play a vital role in installing, servicing, and maintaining low‑voltage systems that support our organization’s network and security infrastructure. This includes structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber, coaxial), CCTV and IP camera systems, and related components. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with low‑voltage installations, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Install, terminate, test, and label structured cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, and coaxial cables.

Install and configure IP and analog camera systems, including NVR/DVR units and related network equipment.

Set up cable pathways, racks, and support structures following industry best practices and safety standards.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

Diagnose and resolve issues related to cabling, cameras, and connectivity.

Perform routine maintenance, testing, and inspections to ensure system reliability.

Collaborate with the IT team to ensure camera and cabling systems integrate smoothly with existing networks.

Site Assessment & Documentation

Conduct on‑site assessments and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical diagrams.

Maintain detailed documentation of installations, configurations, and system layouts.

Ensure all work is properly labeled, organized, and compliant with company and regulatory standards.

Customer Service & Project Coordination

Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to provide status updates and technical guidance.

Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project timelines.

Provide basic training to users on camera system operation and functionality.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualification

A High School Diploma or GED; an Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

Technical certification in low‑voltage, networking, or a related field is preferred.

Low‑voltage or structured cabling certification (e.g., BICSI, ETA, or equivalent) is preferred.

Proven experience installing and servicing structured cabling and camera systems, including network configuration for IP‑based cameras.

Knowledge of PoE, network switches, and remote access tools.

Familiarity with TCP/IP networking, low‑voltage safety standards, and installation tools/equipment.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Bilingual proficiency in English/Mandarin is preferred.

Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to project sites and work flexible hours as needed.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders or stairs for extended periods during installation or maintenance tasks.

Must be able to lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Frequent use of hands and tools to install, connect, or adjust cabling and devices.

Occasional work in confined spaces, above ceilings, or outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer for configuration and documentation tasks.

Working Conditions

Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments, handling various hardware, software, and installation tools.

Compensation The pay range for this job starts at $25–$28 per hour. This is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
