Lead Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Transplant Full Time Days Detroit

Overview
Wonderful opportunity as a Lead Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide care to pre & post liver, kidney, pancreas, & intestinal transplant patients! It is a busy unit given the volume of transplants performed each year at Henry Ford Hospital (approximately 300 transplants per year). Responsibilities
Henry Ford Hospital is the largest transplant program in the state of Michigan, as well as one of the most storied and respected transplant programs in the country. The culture is collegial, professional, clinically stimulating and uses cutting-edge practices with a research-oriented approach to enhance innovation in order to keep the HFH Transplant Program one of the most progressive transplant programs in the world. Fast paced environment which promotes autonomy and clinical expertise. A lead NP or PA will provide functional support to a defined team of APPs in conjunction with their clinical practice duties. Functional leadership includes interviewing and participating in selecting new team members, assisting with APP onboarding, orientation reviews, and performance feedback. Administrative leadership time at discretion of department/division. Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved in a safe and efficient manner. Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training, experience, and privileges. 12 Hour shifts rotating between days and nights. One weekend shift approximately every other month. Previous APP experience inpatient – preferably in an ICU setting – would be preferred, as well as experience caring for transplant patients. Education/Experience Required
Master's degree in nursing minimum OR Bachelor's Degree or Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Certified Nurse Practitioner. Licensed as a Registered Nurse OR Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current BLS or ACLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required. Additional Information
