We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) efforts across our projects. This role involves updating and maintaining QA/QC standards, conducting inspections, overseeing third-party inspection agencies, and engaging with project teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met. The Quality Engineer will provide technical expertise in materials, welding, and other specialized areas. The Quality Engineer is responsible for inspecting product quality, ensuring that product inspections and quality control procedures are carried through as defined in the product specs, and meet the standards required by our customers/end user. The Quality Engineer will also participate in our product testing processes, working closely with our Design group. Responsibilities
Works directly with Operations, Engineering, Customer Service, Purchasing and Sales teams to develop and validate processes designed to exceed customer requirements and on-time delivery Leads continual improvement projects to achieve quality objectives and metrics targets using LEAN principles Assists the Quality Manager & Leads the development, implementation, communication, and maintenance of the quality program to make the Company’s Quality Management System and Policies (ISO 9001) compliant As a Quality team member, works with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service and Sales teams to ensure systems are implemented, maintained and effective Works with Purchasing and the supply chain to establish, implement and audit quality requirements for external suppliers Manages and maintains quality inspection and product release programs Supports Quality inspection of fabricated skids, piping and structural steel across subcontractors and testing of cast, stamped, machined, injection molded components and final assemblies for conformance to design and configuration requirements Works with and supports the Quality Manager in the development of QA compliance objectives and ensure that targets are achieved Assesses the product specifications of the company and its suppliers and compare with customer requirements Writes quality procedures and provides training to the organization on the use of the quality procedures Liaisons with our customers’ quality team and internal and external auditors Develops project specific inspection plans, Welding and NDE plans/procedures to meet customer specifications Ensures the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications Other job duties as assigned Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Mechanical Engineering preferred 7+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in low volume/ high mix industrial equipment manufacturing Structural Steel and Piping equipment industry experience; required Experience with ISO 9001; preferred ASME codes for fabrication; preferred Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing experience; preferred MS Office Suite; required Experience with RCA, 5 whys, corrective action, and preventive action programs; preferred CWI or ASQ Certification (Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate); preferred Ability to travel 15% of the time Travel Requirements
The ability to travel when necessary Work Environment and Physical Demands
This position is based at the headquarters located in Dallas, TX. Minimal physical requirements, primarily computer use, and communication via virtual platforms, are necessary. Flexibility to adapt to occasional scheduled video meetings and collaborative tasks is essential. Positions in this function typically require standing, climbing, balancing, kneeling, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions, with emphasis on safe handling and ergonomic practices.
