Senior Digital Design Engineer
Scottsdale, AZ
Contract Position
Pay Estimated: $84.40-$89.40/Hour
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.)
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities
Research, design, and test advanced electronic systems such as radar detection, communication systems, digital signal processing equipment, and embedded computing
Develop and analyze complex multi-layer Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), including controlled impedance, blind/micro-vias, and high-speed signal integrity
Perform schematic capture, signal integrity analysis, and crosstalk mitigation
Work with a variety of Microprocessors, Microcontrollers, FPGAs, and System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures
Provide
technical leadership and mentoring
to junior engineers
Stay current with industry standards and incorporate best practices into design methodologies
Deliver
innovative, integrated solutions
aligned with evolving customer needs and GDMS strategic initiatives
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline (Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience)
8+ years of experience in digital hardware design (or 6+ with Master’s degree)
Expertise in
schematic capture
and
multi-layer PCB design
with controlled impedance and micro-via structures
Proficient in
signal integrity analysis , including crosstalk and high-speed interfaces
Experience with
embedded system architectures
using FPGAs, SoCs, Microcontrollers, and Processors
Demonstrated ability to
lead technical efforts
and support design reviews
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with
Mentor Graphics
design tools (e.g., Xpedition, PADS)
Knowledge of
High-Reliability or Space-rated hardware standards
Proficiency in
Worst Case Analysis
and
Stress Analysis
