Facility / Department Barnabas Health Medical Group – Oncology APPs – NBI
Salary $120,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year (anticipated annual figure for New Jersey)
Job Summary
The APP is an independent health care provider who coordinates emergent inpatient care through collaboration with the attending Physician.
The PA or APN provides care in accordance with the practice policies and procedures of the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee.
Essential Functions
Demonstrates an ability to organize and achieve quality performance in routine activities.
Provides effective coordination of patient care aspects.
Performs appropriate assessments and treatment for patients.
Interprets laboratory/diagnostic testing accurately.
Performs basic bedside procedures such as central line removal, feeding tube insertion, and other similar tasks.
Exhibits strong organizational skills, clear communication, and effective time management.
Performs duties independently while coordinating care with bedside nurses, attending physicians, and consulting providers.
Interacts compassionately with patients across diverse care settings.
Identifies areas for improvement in policies or patient care, initiates change, and educates involved parties.
Communicates regularly with nursing staff regarding patient care issues.
Explains procedures to patients thoroughly before testing.
Provides appropriate patient teaching as needed.
Job Requirements
Acute care certification preferred.
FCCS certification preferred.
1 to 2 years acute care hospital experience preferred.
Current APN or PA certification.
Current New Jersey state license and DEA.
Current BLS and ACLS required.
