This is a job for an architecture firm. If you have no experience in an architecture or architecture adjacent firm, please do not apply. Responsibilities are performed under the direct supervision of a Senior Project Manager and/or Principal-in-Charge and may be carried out across multiple projects and phases including Schematic Design/Conception through Design Development, Construction Drawings, Bidding/Contract Negotiation, Construction Administration and Closeout. Education Requirements
Masters in Architecture 5-8 years of relevant work experience under the direct supervision of a Registered Architect Utah Architectural Registration/Licensure, or this should be a primary goal of the Project Manager Technical Skills / Knowledge
High-level knowledge of Revit and 3-D rendering experience, but not required Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong interpersonal skills among the project team, consultants and client representatives Proficient knowledge of federal, state and local building administrative and local zoning regulations as applicable to solve the architectural design concept Ability to travel to and from the firm by automobile to attend project site meetings/surveys Understanding modern architectural and construction means and methods; ability to detail these systems in coordination with structural, mechanical and civil trades Proficient understanding of Construction Drawing/Detailing of various commercial and institutional building systems of significant size; multifamily architectural design experience is a plus but not required Ability to solve complex architectural design and construction problems to serve the Client’s program and inform Senior Management of issues that affect scope, budget or schedule Proficient understanding of MEP, Structural and Site/Civil Engineering trades and their impact on architectural design; coordinate with consultant teams during Construction Document phase Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages of development Ability to engage effectively with clients, owner’s representatives, consultants, contractors and project team Key Roles / Responsibilities
Must proficiently serve in the following capacities throughout each architectural project: Will be the Project Lead in developing design and construction documents for bidding and construction on multiple projects Will lead a team of 2-3 staff members and be responsible for their productivity through each project, including reviewing timelines Will develop design / space plans based on the Client’s approved program requirements (assist client with programming) Serve as the Construction Administrator during the Construction Phase, as required, including: Review and approval of Shop Drawings & Submittals Responding to Contractor’s RFIs Review and Approve Change Orders, advising Project Architect of changes in construction cost Prepare and Issue Construction Field Directives under supervision of the Project Architect / senior management Perform Punch Lists at Substantial Completion Attend on-site construction project meetings and maintain accurate meeting minutes; advise the General Contractor and senior management of critical path and long lead items Exhibit entrepreneurial qualities to support business development Organize and direct the architectural/engineering team to execute work in a coordinated manner Determine extent of construction detailing required for various elements, ensure constructability, code compliance, affordability and aesthetics; develop details and supervise team members in developing needed details Perform quality assurance checks on all drawings and documents Issue progress review sets of drawings according to milestone dates Make decisions to adhere to Design Concept, Project Budget, Timelines and Milestones Maintain strong time management, prioritize tasks, and delegate to meet project timelines; advise Senior Management of deviations Demonstrate multi-tasking ability for multiple projects; oversee training of junior staff and implementation of office drafting standards Commit to meeting project deadlines while collaborating as part of the project team; adapt roles to achieve project goals Apply rigorous research to ensure project code compliance and develop technical specifications Leverage building agency experience to prepare applications and responses to objections, and define approaches to approvals For reference, code: E04JI802kj1f4065wl3 If you are interested in applying for this job please press the Apply Button and follow the application process.
