About Woodland Job Corps Center

The Woodland Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands‑on training in the following areas: Electrical Wiring, Carpentry, Building Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, Advanced Training – Culinary Arts and Hotel & Lodging. We also assist students with job placement upon completion of their educational and career technical training.

Position Summary

Responsible for applicant recruitment and arrival coordination, and to provide leaving students with transitional support and placement services leading to quality full‑time jobs, military enlistment, or enrollment in higher education or Job Corps advanced training. Identifies and develops Center‑beneficial partnerships that lead to enrollment and/or student placement. Determines and documents student eligibility for Job Corps enrollment according to all PRH requirements. Works cooperatively with Career Technical Training and Career Transition Readiness staff to provide leaving students with comprehensive and individualized case management to identify and remediate students’ transitional needs. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.

Management & Supervision

May supervise assigned students performing intern duties.

Responsibilities

Follow all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensure no manipulation of student data.

Ensure Center meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals.

Conduct comprehensive screening procedures to determine applicants’ eligibility for the Job Corps Program.

Secure and evaluate applicants’ behavioral, medical and educational records.

Denies applicant enrollment and refers applicants to other educational resources.

Conduct thorough assessment activities and career counseling during the admissions process.

Serve as a Center Liaison to facilitate a seamless enrollment process and early student retention.

Work closely with community agencies, employment services, high schools, trade and technical schools and other agencies to inform prospective applicants about the Job Corps program.

Develop partnerships with community agencies and local businesses to develop and maintain referral linkages for prospective enrollments and post‑training placement opportunities.

Conduct Academy campus tours, pre‑arrival visits and Parent meetings.

Establish supportive/mentoring relationships with students during the Career Transition Phase.

Provide personalized career counseling and evaluate student performance.

Oversee, develop, monitor, and update student transition plans to ensure successful outcomes.

Produce high‑quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.

Maintain appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards.

Plan, prioritize and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.

Understand and apply job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities. Proactively maintain the skills required to perform job duties.

Mentor, monitor and model College and Career Readiness Skills.

Provide high‑quality supervision and management for the student population. Support and reinforce a positive community culture.

Provide quality programs and services for individualized student needs. Pursue Center improvements, enhancements and promote innovation.

Exchange ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contribute meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge. Provide quality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested.

Effectively articulate thoughts and ideas. Identify problems, analyze causes and evaluate appropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions. Follow up to ensure prompt/appropriate action is taken and that problems are in fact corrected.

Work in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students.

Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director or designee to include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field from an accredited school; or Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field from an accredited school and two years’ related experience in youth programs.

• Must possess a valid in‑State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements.
