Per Diem Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) – Inpatient NICU Location: UW Health, Madison, WI

Work Schedule:

Minimum of 2 shifts per month and 1 holiday shift per year. 10‑hour day shifts, 16‑hour night shifts, 24‑hour shifts available. Weekend, weekday, and holiday shifts available.

Responsibilities

Practice alongside other Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and NICU Hospitalists at our two locations: UnityPoint Health‑Meriter (42‑bed Level III NICU) and American Family Children’s Hospital (26‑bed Level IV NICU).

Attend high‑risk deliveries and provide medical management as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Provide neonatal transport with Medflight Peds/Neo Team.

Perform routine clinical procedures independently, including resuscitation and stabilization of newborns, endotracheal tube placement/intubation, PICC line insertion, umbilical catheter insertion, peripheral arterial line insertion, chest tube insertion and removal, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, double or partial volume exchange transfusion, and neonatal transport.

Education & Experience Education:

Minimum Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from an accredited Nursing Program.

Preferred Experience:

Two (2) years of relevant NICU experience.

Licenses & Certifications Required:

State of Wisconsin Nurse Practitioner license.

Additional requirements: active RN and APRN certifications, prescriptive authority, board certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, DEA license or eligibility.
