Graduate of nursing school 1 year clinical experience (RNs with less than 12 months experience will complete the new grad requirements) California Registered Nurse (RN) – CA Board of Registered Nursing – REQUIRED AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) – American Heart Association – REQUIRED NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – Various-Employee provides certificate – REQUIRED NIHSS is required within 90 days of hire Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Independently performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care for patients with diverse needs throughout the continuum of care. Demonstrates clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to adapt care based on patient and family needs. Performs within unit standards of care and regulatory requirements; participates in quality improvement initiatives. Leads/assists with teaching and mentoring of staff and students; coordinates patient care with the care team.
