Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is primarily focused on accounting for our Retail Stores and serves as a key contributor to the Company’s accurate and efficient financial reporting close process. The role offers cross-company exposure to the Company’s production, distribution, and retail operations across multiple brands and financial entities. The Senior Accountant will apply generally accepted accounting principles, company policies and procedures, previous experience, and PDI and Oracle e-Business Suite system functionality to ensure accounting transactions, account balances, and reports are appropriately stated. In addition, the Senior Accountant will assist in the review and redesign of accounting processes and procedures across Retail Accounting. This includes consolidating procedures across multiple business units. Responsibilities

Responsible for the accounting of lottery, 3rd party gift cards, utilities, credit cards, and more. Identify efficiency and process improvement opportunities related to Retail Accounting. Support the Manager of Retail Accounting in efforts to scale accounting procedures to multiple banners/entities. Document accounting and business processes related to retail accounting. Respond to external audit requests. Other duties as assigned. The above responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with documented company policies and procedures, with the goal that all will be accomplished to provide monthly and annual financial results within established timeframes. All of the above will be accomplished collaboratively but will also provide opportunities for independent decision making. Working Relationship

The Senior Accountant will work closely on a daily basis with members of the Retail Accounting and General Ledger department, as well as other internal stakeholders, on a daily/weekly/monthly basis including Financial Reporting, Tax, Culinary Center, Warehouse, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Procurement, Marketing and Information Technology teams. External contacts will include external auditors, vendors, and software vendors/developers. Interactions with all of these groups will be via email, phone, and in person and will require the Senior Accountant to inform, teach, persuade, and report information. Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor degree in Accounting Preferred Education: Not applicable Minimum Experience: 2 – 5 years as an accountant in private industry or at least 2 years as an auditor in a public accounting firm. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Preferred Experience: 2 - 5 years as an accountant in the retail industry. Demonstrated working knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite and Discoverer query tool (or similar). Experience with Microsoft Dynamics / NAV environments or similar ERP solutions. Exposure to information systems implementations a plus. Ability to leverage advanced Microsoft Excel functions to streamline processes. Soft Skills: Comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment Commitment to execute against goals Highly organized Detail Oriented Strong oral and written capabilities Other: Travel – annually participate in our Shadow a Manager program at local retail stores.
