We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Director of Demand and Supply Planning to join our AP Emissions team in the automotive aftermarket manufacturing industry. AP is a rapidly growing company looking for proven experience excelling in a fast-paced environment leveraging cross-functional influence and direct leadership to successfully lead the SIOP process. This role is responsible for forecasting customer demand, ensuring product availability, optimizing inventory levels, and aligning supply chain operations with business goals across three different manufacturing facilities. You will help our company build out a planning cycle process. You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Production to support customer satisfaction while minimizing costs and excess inventory.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain monthly and weekly demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, customer input, and promotional plans.

Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to integrate commercial insights into forecast planning.

Monitor and adjust forecasts based on changes in demand patterns, new product introductions, or discontinued SKUs.

Analyze forecast accuracy and implement continuous improvements.

Translate demand forecasts into supply plans, production schedules, and procurement requirements.

Coordinate with production planning, procurement, and logistics to ensure supply meets demand.

Optimize inventory levels across warehouses and distribution centers to reduce stockouts and obsolescence.

Manage supply constraints and develop mitigation strategies to avoid customer service disruptions.

Monitor KPIs such as inventory turnover, service levels, forecast accuracy, and capacity utilization.

Conduct root cause analysis of variances and propose corrective actions.

Implement best practices in demand‑supply balancing and inventory optimization.

Utilize ERP and advanced planning tools.

Maintain accurate master data including lead times, order quantities, and safety stock levels.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in demand and/or supply planning, preferably in the automotive aftermarket or related manufacturing sector.

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Experience leading various aspects throughout the value chain; highly process-driven and understands best practices in similar environments.

Demonstrated ability to continuously improve logistics performance and manage complex customer needs.

Skills & Competencies

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with forecasting tools, ERP systems, and Excel.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Knowledge of Six Sigma and LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing, MRP, and inventory control methodologies is a plus.

Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.

Internally driven and self-motivated.

Customer and continuous improvement focused.
