We are looking for a Health and Wellness Programs Supervisor to provide newly resettled refugees with psycho‑social and case management support, ensuring critical mental health referral services are available. In this role you will create a culture of trauma‑informed care by implementing mental‑health screening protocols and client referrals for emotional distress, torture, trauma, and gender‑based violence.

Major Responsibilities

Manage the quality and timely achievement of all Community Wellness program services and objectives.

Lead the development and implementation of community‑based wellness programming, integrating traditional healing, community support systems, and local resources.

Coordinate with IRC technical advisors to deliver high‑quality psycho‑social interventions focused on mental health, protection, and empowerment.

Facilitate psychosocial programming such as support groups, one‑on‑one health coaching, and wellness workshops.

Ensure appropriate mental‑health screenings (e.g., RHS‑15, pre‑ and post‑survey) are administered for eligible clients and required activities.

Oversee screening outcomes, referrals, and ensure access to appropriate follow‑up care or treatment services.

Provide input on strategic planning, community needs, and program innovations.

Client Services & Crisis Support

Provide brief trauma‑informed interventions for clients with high emotional distress, including victims of crime, survivors of torture, gender‑based violence, or human trafficking.

Serve as the point person for crisis and non‑crisis intervention pathways, coordinating timely support with community mental health resources.

Be available to support client grievances and provide direct services when other staff are unavailable.

Support language access initiatives, including community needs assessments and development of training materials.

Staff Supervision & Development

Provide direct supervision to Community Wellness staff and interns, including onboarding, daily support, technical training, mentoring, and professional development.

Supervise delivery of health education, psychosocial activities, and case management services in alignment with trauma‑informed principles.

Offer training and consultation on trauma‑informed practices, mental health screenings, and appropriate referral protocols.

Cross‑Departmental Collaboration

Ensure seamless client flow and service integration between the Community Wellness Department and other IRC departments.

Support the Community Wellness team with referral coordination for high‑needs clients.

Participate in Leadership Team meetings, contributing to strategic planning and organizational initiatives.

Grant Management & Reporting

Oversee public and private grants related to wellness and mental health, including implementation, compliance, budgeting, and deliverables.

Coordinate with IRC HQ and regional teams to support grant positioning and proposal development.

Track and report on grant activities and performance metrics.

Compile and deliver accurate reports to senior staff, HQ, and donors.

Community Partnerships & Outreach

Coordinate outreach to refugee, SIV, and immigrant populations in the Sacramento region to promote wellness programming.

Strengthen and develop partnerships with mental health providers, healthcare systems, domestic violence organizations, social service agencies, and culturally‑specific organizations.

Train community providers on effective service delivery for refugees and survivor populations.

Compliance, Monitoring & Evaluation

Maintain comprehensive case notes and program documentation.

Ensure timely and accurate entry of data into IRC and donor databases.

Monitor program quality and outcomes, adjusting programming based on data and community feedback.

Participate in all program meetings, training sessions, and team development activities.

Perform other duties as assigned to support program success and the organizational mission.

Job Requirements

Demonstrated success working in a multi‑cultural environment.

Fluency in English; additional language preferred.

Deep understanding of trauma‑informed care, mental health, and psychosocial support.

Experience implementing psychosocial programming.

Highly organized, self‑starter with excellent problem‑solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast‑paced, cross‑cultural environment.

Experience managing multi‑cultural teams, program design, grant writing, and donor reporting.

Strong command of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree desirable.

California licensed to provide clinical mental health services desirable.

Personal vehicle for travel to field sites preferred.

Work Environment

Standard office environment, hybrid.

Occasional travel to field sites and external partner meetings.

Compensation

Pay range: $75,369 – $77,700 (US‑based candidates).
