Job Description Position Overview:
The EHS & Quality Manager provides leadership in safety, environmental, health, and quality management to ensure compliance with regulations and corporate standards. This role collaborates with plant leadership to implement and monitor EHS & Quality initiatives, fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Essential Responsibilities And Duties
EHS:
Implement and maintain Amcor’s EHS policies, ensuring compliance with regulations and corporate standards.
Identify and assess workplace risks, developing appropriate preventive measures.
Lead management of change processes and oversee contractor safety compliance.
Review and analyze incident reports to determine trends and focus areas.
Maintain knowledge of OSHA and EHS regulations, coordinating OSHA 300 log updates and submissions.
Act as the primary liaison for external audits, including OSHA and environmental inspections.
Conduct safety audits and promote safe behaviors through coaching and mentoring.
Develop and oversee the annual safety budget, ensuring effective resource allocation.
Manage and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
Support leadership in developing job training programs focused on safety and compliance.
Implement employee safety recognition programs and track site safety incentives.
Ensure compliance with environmental permits and reporting requirements.
Lead the plant’s safety committee and communicate EHS updates internally and externally.
Quality Assurance:
Develop, implement, and maintain the plant’s quality assurance program.
Oversee document control, nonconforming product management, traceability, and corrective actions.
Manage customer complaint investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
Utilize quality data to drive continuous improvement and support production teams.
Ensure compliance with inspection and testing procedures, including raw material and finished goods evaluation.
Lead internal quality audits and collaborate with production teams on corrective actions.
Act as the primary plant representative for customer quality concerns and external audits.
Conduct training programs to standardize quality expectations across teams.
Lead quality meetings and drive initiatives to enhance product and service excellence.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EHS compliance, and quality management principles.
Experience in risk assessment, safety training, and quality control processes.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred) in one of the following areas: Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science/Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing or Operations Management, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
Relevant Certifications
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) – Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)
Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) – BCSP
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification – Quality Management Systems
Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) – American Society for Quality (ASQ)
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt – for quality process improvements
OSHA 30‑Hour General Industry Certification – Occupational safety and compliance training
Additional Skills Or Training Desired
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement (Kaizen), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Proficiency in incident investigation, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance
Familiarity with EPA, OSHA, and ISO 14001 standards
