Overview
Quality Control (QC) Engineer (Civil Engineering) at Ardmore Roderick. This role is located at the Memphis International Airport field office and focuses on executing and managing quality control activities for infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities
Execute project-specific Quality Control (QC) Plan with scopes of work and work procedures in coordination with the project safety plan and in a manner that engages all project staff, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants and ensures achievement of contract requirements. Develop comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of contract documents. Assist project team with development of Definable Features of Work (DFOW) log. Chair or attend pre-installation meetings to communicate scope expectations to trade partners. Perform material delivery inspections in collaboration with the Project Superintendent and Trade Foreman to confirm compliance with approved submittals. Chair or attend First Work In Place (WIP) Observation with the project team. Attend Mock-Up review meetings and perform daily quality follow-up inspections on-site. Arrange for third-party testing and inspections; analyze and report results. Perform QC review of submittals, track issues and concerns, with emphasis on high-risk activities. Ensure execution of engineering procedures within budgetary guidelines, including document control, submissions management, creation and tracking of RFIs, material samples, and documentation of potential cost changes and approved change orders. Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors and vendors to deliver a fully compliant QC plan. Understand project execution plan and coordinate QC procedures at appropriate stages of work and in line with the project schedule. Continually improve strategies and tools to document, track, and record compliance with contract documents. Improve procedures to expand development of the QC Plan as the project progresses. Manage procedures for completion of Daily Construction Reports (DCRs) and punch lists. Document non-compliant materials/work and confirm compliance after corrective actions before subsequent work. Research and apply additional QC and lean procedures to enhance project delivery quality. Ensure project closeout and quality reports are completed. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Construction experience that bridges both field and engineering responsibilities. Knowledge of construction processes, means and methods, materials, installation procedures, and tolerances. Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule. Advanced computer skills, proficient in project management software and MS Office. Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications
Construction Quality Management/Corps of Engineers Certification (USACE). Aviation project experience. Benefits
