You will manage loading/unloading of freight and contribute to safe, efficient warehouse operations, with a focus on equipment operation and warehouse organization. RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times. Manage cargo from incoming trucks by hand or with manual equipment such as a hand truck or pallet jack, or by using a forklift. Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received; determine whether to refuse or accept with notation. Record receipts on appropriate forms or log books and ensure proper documentation is attached. Sort cargo by account or destination and store it in the proper location. Accurately label freight to its destination. Perform forklift duties and learn to containerize basic loads. Monitor warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors and storing equipment as needed. QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED; 1–3 years related experience; 1+ year industry experience preferred. Credentials: Forklift Driver Certification; Valid state-issued driver’s license preferred. Skills: Ability to frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds; ability to drive and/or operate heavy equipment; basic math and checklist documentation skills. Characteristics: Responsive and professional customer service orientation; ability to work in a team; problem-solving skills; ability to read, comprehend, and complete basic checklists and forms.
