Alyssa Kristin is seeking a
Pattern Maker
(Bridal/Luxury Evening Wear) to join our development team and help bring new designs from concept to creation. This individual will be responsible for drafting, refining, and correcting patterns throughout the development and pre-production process — ensuring every piece reflects the precision and craftsmanship the brand is known for.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly skilled in draping and pattern construction, and brings 3–5 years of experience in bridal, couture, or luxury womenswear. This role can be based in
Chicago or New York , and we’re open to
full-time, part-time, or freelance
arrangements depending on experience and availability.
Responsibilities
Translate design sketches into accurate, production-ready patterns, leveraging expertise in draping and garment construction
Attend fittings to support design revisions, updating patterns and measurements as needed
Modify patterns for made-to-measure and custom orders
Create mock-ups or toiles during development to test fit, structure, and design details
Provide technical, pattern-specific support to the broader development and production teams
Collaborate closely with designers and technical teams to maintain fit accuracy and design integrity across collections
Required Skills & Experience
Strong understanding of patternmaking, fit adjustments, and garment construction
Strong corsetry and/or draping skills - experience creating structured interiors, molded bodices, or sculptural silhouettes is a major plus
Associate degree in Patternmaking, Technical Design, or equivalent professional experience
3–5 years of experience in bridal, couture, or luxury womenswear patternmaking
Deep knowledge of luxury and bridal fabrics, including how grainlines and fabric behavior affect structure and drape
Proficiency with Optitex or Gerber
Exceptional attention to detail and precision
Strong communication and collaboration skills
