Electrical Engineer – Power (Multiple Locations) Location Options
Overland Park, KS; Cary, NC; Ann Arbor, MI Job Summary
As an Electrical Engineer, you will lead conventional power generation projects, develop electrical drawings, specifications, and manage project budgets and schedules. Key Responsibilities
Function as project lead and/or technical expert on assigned Conventional Power Generation Projects. Develop electrical drawing deliverables including one‑line and three‑line diagrams, motor schematics, breaker control schematics, wiring diagrams, power cable sizing and schedules. Perform complex engineering calculations such as load flow, short circuit, motor starting (ETAP or SKM), arc flash analysis (ETAP or SKM), protective relay settings and battery and charger sizing. Develop electrical equipment specifications and BOM for procurement and construction. Create man‑hour budgets and schedules for projects and proposals. Attend on‑site meetings, investigate existing conditions, interface with clients, and support construction. Extensively use ProjectWise, ETAP, AutoCAD, and other Microsoft Office tools. Preferred Qualifications
Project lead experience in utility‑scale conventional power generation project design. Experience with LV/MV conventional power generation (combined cycle, simple cycle). QA/QC and project lead experience. Ability to work within schedule and man‑hour budget. Familiarity with NEC and IEEE/ANSI standards. Experience with MV/LV switchgear, transformers, breakers, relays, inverters, batteries, switches, surge arrestors, and cables. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years related work experience. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license to support EOR requirements. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records). Certifications
Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries. Work Environment / Physical Demands
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days. Physical demands include travel to project sites and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Compensation and Benefits
